THIS LINE OF FASHION IS DESIGNED WITH IMAGES THAT ARE 161 YEARS OLD...

There was an expedition on the Colorado and in the Grand Canyon as well as across the Coconino Plateau in 1857. It was led by Lieutenant Joseph Christmas Ives. His photographs and sketches by Mollhausen during this exploration, are awesome! And those prints were used in the design of this fashion line.

They are 161 year old authentic images that you are looking at on these clothes.

For instance, on this expedition, Wotan's Throne was originally named NEWBERRY'S TERRACE. After the Geologist, John Newberry who was on the Ives' Expedition.

The men are from the Cocopas Tribe. One of the many Colorado River Tribes. They were subjects of the artist on the banks of the river and were as real as you and me. So are all the river people that were sketched in this line of fashion. The places and the steamboat as well. These sketches were for the purpose of the U.S army to study the river. More on this in Gypsy Quill's book-The Canyon Shadow and Eyes of the Raptor.

Mojave Canyon today is between Phoenix and Black Canyon on the Colorado River. The sketch was drawn by Mollhausen during the expedition in 1857. When they drove a steam boat called, EXPLORER, up river. It was powered by a wood stove using various types of wood they collected on the banks of the Colorado. Although it is not in color, you can see the contrast. He was an excellent artist.
